Arlington, VA, July 19, 2007 - MI has entered into a partnership with SolarQuest and Baltic Sea Solutions (BASS) to establish a Renewable Nations Consortium.  This partnership is borne out of the need to elaborate a renewable energy alternative in order to mitigate the negative impact of climate change. The Consortium will encourage and facilitate global transition to renewable energy through assisting countries with technical services, integrated policy planning tools, and capacity development.

The Consortium is expected to grow to include 30 member states, with former President of Peru, Alejandro Toledo, serving as its president.

The Consortium’s immediate plans are to recruit members and to establish educational centers in the U.S., Denmark, and Latin America, where students will learn about renewable energy and the environment.
